Halloween Parties

We had several Halloween parties this year. The first was our play date group. We all got together and decorated treat bags and had lots of yummy treats for lunch (including "ghoul"ash!) The boys enjoyed decorating their bag, so that was pretty cute to watch them craft. All the moms brought something to pass out to the kids and they got to "trick or treat" with each person and put their treats in their bag. We tried for a group picture, but it gets harder and harder with that many people! I loved seeing all of the kids' costumes; they were all so cute. It was a great morning for sure!

We also decided to have a Halloween party at the boys' music class, since it's on Thursday, and Halloween fell on a Thursday this year. The kids dressed up, and Mr. Todd picked out all of their favorite activities to do during class (including Ring Around the Rosie!) There is another set of twins in the class (crazy, I know) and they dressed as Thing 1 and 2. Everyone brought treats again, including crazy Mr. Todd who brought cupcakes!! Amazing there wasn't a huge mess, but the kids had great fun!

Pumpkinfest 2013

We had a GREAT time (yes, capitals are necessary, this place is fun) at Pumpkinfest last year so I was so excited to go again this year. Last year the boys couldn't even walk yet and they had a blast, so I knew it would be awesome. Laura, Jacob and baby Cece came with us (even though she slept through the whole thing!) We checked out the pumpkins and tractors and got a few cute shots of the boys. The boys and Alex checked out the live animals while I got us a treat. Then it was time for a snack of freshly made apple cinnamon donuts (no pictures due to the messiness.) Yum! And we enjoyed some live music while we ate.

After that we took a hayride! It was a sunny but windy day, so we didn't need coats, but it was a little chilly when the sun wasn't shining. The boys checked out the playground area and the corn box play area before we headed to the big slides. Daddy and Jacob each took a few turns with the boys down the slide, and I think it's safe to say they all had fun. :) We took a ride on the tractor/train thing before heading into the corn maze. I always think this will be fun, and I always immediately want back out! But Alex has a good sense of direction and we've never gotten trapped in a maze overnight yet. ;)

LOVE these faces!!
Then it was time for one of my favorite parts! The boys get to pick out their own small pumpkin from the "patch". They picked one out for Cece, as well. (Actually I think they brought Laura and Jacob like 6 pumpkins and they just picked one for her!) After that it was pretty much time to go, but I always wish we could stay longer. Maybe next year the nap schedules will allow us a longer stay. They have pumpkin painting and other activities I know we could spend more time on. (Plus, Cece might get to enjoy a bit more next year, as in, be awake for part! :) But it definitely was a great day, and we will be back!

They would've stayed on the tractor all day if other kids hadn't wanted to climb up, too...

Zoo Boo 2013 and 6th Anniversary

It was our second trip to Zoo Boo with our friend Ashlyn. This year Henry was a spider, and Holden was a bee. (Idea came from a Halloween magazine that had spiders on several pages and Henry loved pointing them out! And both boys love looking at spiders, bees, and bugs outside in the garden with Grandma. So it worked out well!) They were a lot more interested in the candy and trick or treating part this time, but once they had candy in their bag, they wanted to stop and eat it. It was hard to get them to keep moving. But we had a fun day! The weather was nice and we had a good time checking out the animals and snacking on candy! This is definitely a tradition we will keep up year to year.

"Mom, is that real??"

"I can't smile for this picture. I need to eat this candy."

Later that weekend, Alex and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. My mom and dad took the boys overnight so that we could have a nice dinner and movie night. We ended up staying home and Alex cooked an amazing meal for us!! I will have to find the picture from my phone to prove it, but it was delicious. We took a few family selfies and we have a lot to be thankful for! (One is that the boys actually took a picture with us and tried to smile. :) I know I'm a lucky girl!

Zoo trip with Papaw

We had a day off of school for fall break, so while the weather was still nice, we decided to head to the zoo! Papaw made his first trip with us, and the boys had a blast. The animals were all really active and fun to see. The male lion was right by the fence and easy to see, and the tiger was pacing back and forth by the window. It was fun to try and get a few good shots!
