365 Project Week 13

Another pretty good week! Sunday I was still in Detroit so one more of cute Mr. J. Monday was a quick snapshot of shoe concentration. Wednesday is also not a great shot, but apparently all I got that day! I do love a good brother hug though. :) Thursday, my husband spotted these deer and then turned the car around for me so I could take a few shots! Yay for something different and interesting to put up! Friday my neighbor and friend had her baby boy, so I got to go meet him again when he was just hours old!! So much fun, I need to find more people having babies so I can take pictures for them!! :) It's so special capturing some of those first memories for families. Saturday, Alex made a loaf of bread, and apparently Holden wanted to see what was up there! So I love this shot of him peeking over the counter. Overall a fun week with some cute babies! Definitely feeling more positive now with spring coming and seeing more sunshine each day. Can't wait to try my hand at some outdoor park and play type pictures!

Grandma's Birthday

For Grandma's birthday this year, I made some yummy lemon cupcakes and did my best at decorating! We went to lunch at a nice brunch place with her and Uncle Evan. I was a little nervous about how the boys would do, but they did fine with some coloring and talking to us. They got a gourmet pb&j sandwich (it certainly cost enough!) with chips that they enjoyed, and then shared our fruit salad. The restaurant wouldn't let us eat the cupcakes there, so we had to go back to Grandma's for that part. They enjoyed singing to her and blowing out the candle together. They definitely know what's up with birthdays now and were pretty excited about the cupcakes/cake part of it! We tried for a picture of the boys with her, but it's always tough to get a good one.

We are so lucky to have my mom in our lives! I don't know what we'd do without her to watch the boys while I'm at work, and they are lucky to get to spend their time with someone who loves them as much as she does! Thanks, Mom, and happy birthday! Love you!

Park Fun and Boys are 2 1/2!

I brought my camera on one of our first Holliday Park trips this year. It's crazy to see how much they've matured over the winter. They are much more daring on the playground now. They're both still hesitant on the slides, but they were running through the levels of the playgrounds and trying out lots of new skills. I still worry a little about them falling, but they seem to be pretty aware of what they can do and what's still out of reach. This should be a fun summer of trying new parks and equipment!

I also snapped a picture on the boys' half birthday, with their friend Hazel, born the same day as them! I will try to do a post more about them at 2 1/2 when I can find the time to type. (But let's just say you can really tell they are TWO and a HALF! Let's hope three will be easy...) For now, enjoy the pictures. :)

We're 2 and a half today!

Visit to Meet Baby Jude!

My best friend from high school had her first baby in December, and I finally got to go meet him! (She lives in Michigan, so it's not just down the street. :) It was a great weekend though! The drive wasn't bad either way. And it was so great to meet baby Jude!

I got there Friday and we had dinner and talked and caught up. Saturday we did fun stuff like go to Target, make treats for Jude's daycare teachers, and watch Frozen. Saturday night we went out to a yummy Mexican place for tacos and margaritas. Jude was a sleepy guy, sleeping all the way through the movie and part of dinner. I think he fussed a little bit, but it was a noisy restaurant so we were good! Meredith and I stayed up late Saturday night talking, and it was so fun to talk to her as a "mom". She's been my friend forever but now we have a whole new category of stuff to talk about! :) Sunday we had breakfast and then I got on the road.

It was a fun visit and nice of Alex to watch the boys all weekend. I hope we get the chance to all get together sometime, I would love for my boys to meet baby Jude. In a few years, they'll all be able to play together! :)

365 Project Week 12

Another crazy week! We did a 5k on Sunday, even though it was so cold. I didn't get a lot of great shots, but at least documented us being there. Monday I got a shot of spring hopefulness; I found a brave plant starting to come up. Tuesday was the boys' and their friend Hazel's 2 1/2 year birthday!! Crazy that we have 2 1/2 year olds now! Wednesday I forgot to take a picture before work, so was trying desperately to get something before they went to bed. It was so hard to get my camera to function, even when I had their room light on, but I did like the way this one turned out. Friday we got out and blew bubbles; I hope to get some better shots of that in the future, but this was a start. And Saturday I traveled to see my high school friend Meredith, and her cute new baby! (So at least I have a weak excuse for why I'm posting late again. :) But here's hoping spring finally decides to stick around and we can get outside more. I don't feel like I've been very creative or pushing myself lately, but at the same time I know I'll still enjoy looking back and seeing what we were up to each day/week. So I'm proud of myself for pushing on! :)

365 Week 11

Here they are for the week. (Eleven weeks! Crazy! I will feel accomplished when I make it to day 100.) I took birthday invite pics for a friend, so the first two are from that (Holden modeling for me, and the super cute blue-eyed Beckett!) Mondays are always rough, so I took some outside looking for signs of spring...didn't find many. Tuesday was our FIRST PARK TRIP of the year! Yay, how exciting! :) I wanted to get one of the three boys going down the slide together, so I was pretty happy with that shot, and then I love the second one of Henry. It's actually one of those where I think, "Wow, I took that??" And then Wednesday it snowed again...that's my rosebush covered in snow. (So much for signs of spring...) Thursday was my mom's birthday, so I tried my hand at some food photography, since I thought my cupcakes turned out cute! And I had to get a blowing out the candles picture, even though I had trouble with figuring out settings. Friday I played with some toys, since my photo group was doing a toy challenge. I wanted to play with the dino shadows, but I don't quite think I nailed it (but fun to try.) And Saturday I was trying to take another toy photo and ended up liking the ones WITH my kiddos the best. :)

365 Week 10

Look at me, all ahead of/on schedule! We've got a date night tonight so I thought I'd post early and not have to worry about it tonight or tomorrow. And just for my friend Rachael, I won't even complain about how terrible my photos are! :)

I got a cute shot of Henry and Lanore (I've been wanting some of them with the dog, and she was tolerating him at the moment.) Also had to get one of Holden on the potty, since it's a classic. Hopefully he won't kill me for it when he's 18! Still trying to get good shots of the birds at our feeder and finally got one of our cardinals! We also had a much needed haircut this week, and another big event: taking the side off of Holden's crib. (Henry still has his and doesn't seem to mind so that's good for us.) So I had to sneak in there and get another nap shot, this time without any bars in front of him! (Probably one of the last naptime shots as they are sleeping less and less and it's not worth the risk of going in their room!) And today there was a "digger" (I'm sure it has a real name but that works for me) in our neighborhood, so I took the boys over in the wagon so they could watch it dig. Mom of the year right here! :) So that was my week, thanks for stopping by!
