Thanksgiving 2013

We spent Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Amerman's house this year. It was a small group, since the other cousins were down in Atlanta, so it was quiet, but good. I made another fruit turkey, knowing the boys would be happy to eat the fruit. Alex's mom and sister made a delicious meal, and the men used the turkey fryer outside to do the turkey. While waiting for the meal, the boys played outside in the front yard with Alex. It was cute to watch them throw the football around for a few minutes! We ate around 2, so the boys actually slept through the main meal and got some bites afterwards. (I was really hoping they'd try more, but they were still picky. They hate mashed potatoes which I think is crazy. They liked the cranberry sauce and the rolls, of course, and then tried a few bites of turkey, noodles and green beans.)

I did some shopping on Black Friday with a friend, and we stayed home that night. On Saturday, we went to my parents' house for our Thanksgiving meal. My dad enjoyed sneaking bites of turkey to the boys as he was cutting it up. We read some books after dinner and just took it easy! :) The boys love being there and running laps around their house. We had a nice time with both families and are lucky to be able to get to both places without much travel-related stress.
